Big Nerd Ranch Offers Core Data Cocoa Boot Camp for Nov.

Big Nerd Ranch on Thursday announced that it will hold a Core Data Cocoa Boot Camp on Tiger from Nov. 14 to 18. Core Data is a feature in Mac OS X v10.4 that simplifies the data model creation process, with such abilities as redo, undo and data persistence.

Cocoa Boot Camp instructor Aaron Hillegass restructured his curriculum to incorporate Core Data, saying in a statement released by Big Nerd Ranch: "Ever since Tigeris release earlier this year, developers are beginning to realize the full potential that Core Data offers the developer."

Topics covered during the five-day course include controls, delegates, Nib files, and user defaults. Students start writing their code on the first day and will have created a Cocoa application by the end of the course.

The US$3,500 class price includes lodging, all meals, original instruction materials, 24-hour lab access, and transportation to and from the Atlanta airport. Big Nerd Ranch encourages students to bring independent projects to class so they can get feedback from other students or their instructor.
