Blizzard Releases Movie From Next StarCraft Game

B lizzard has released the first movie for the next game in the StarCraft series, StarCraft: Ghost. This new game is a console game (PlayStation2, Nintendo GameCube, and the Xbox), with no plans for it to come to the Mac (or PC), but with the StarCrafft series being as popular as it is, and Blizzard offering a QuickTime version of the movie, we thought it might be of interest to you.

StarCraft Ghost puts you in the role of a single character, Nova, unlike previous StarCraft games that place you in charge of developing and controlling entire armies. As Nova, you will be sent on missions, and Blizzard says the action will be a mix of solo operations and planetary battles. The movie offers a look at game play. From the movieis Web page:

For the first time ever, witness the lethal Ghost operative Nova in action. Check out her arsenal of sophisticated weaponry along with a number of her enhanced physical and psionic abilities. Watch Nova combine elements of stealth and tactical assault as she engages in deadly solo operations and massive planetary battles, and be the first to experience the StarCraft universe from a completely new 3-D perspective.

You can find download links for the movie at Blizzardis Web site. We found the servers to be slow to respond, most likely due to serious interest in this game, but your mileage may vary. You can find more information on the game itself at Blizzardis site, as well.
