Brother Releases Two 5-in-1 Laser Printers

Brother International, Corp. has announced two new all-in-one, monochrome laser printers, the MFC-7420 and the MFC-7820N. Both include scanner, printer, copier, fax and PC fax functionality. The latter also includes a built-in ethernet interface for easy networking.

The products are designed for small- to medium-sized businesses. Features include USB 2.0 compatibility, a 250-sheet paper tray, 35-page sheet feeders, up to 20 pages per minute during copy and print, printing resolutions up to 2400 x 600, and roomy built-in memory (16MB on the MFC-7420; 32MB on the MFC-7820N).

Included with the scanners is Presto! PageManager for Mac, software for viewing documents and Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

Both printers are compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.4 or higher or Mac OS 9.1 or higher.

Brotheris new MFC products are slated to ship in March, 2005. The MFC-7240 and MFC-7820N have MSRPs of US$299.99 and US$349.99, respectively. Both are now available with a $50 rebate.

Brotheris new all-in-one is a printer, copier, scanner, and both a standard and PC fax machine.
