Canon CP600 Compact Photo Printer Announced

Canon USA announced Thursday a new 30 ounce, compact photo printer that will be available in April.

Imaging Resource: "The Canon SELPHY CP600 is a dye sublimation printer which uses a protective overcoating, and is suitable for making borderless or bordered postcard, credit card label or mini label prints at a resolution of 300 x 300 dots per inch, using yellow, cyan and magenta dyes.

the CP600 (see photo below) is the successor to Canonis popular CP-330 model. The company said the CP600 will output 300 x 300 dpi postcard sized prints in 63 seconds. Paper/dye cartridges are sold as a package together."

Weighing under two pounds, the CP600 operates on AC power as well as the supplied heavy-duty rechargeable battery. It offers USB connection to computers or cameras, as well as infra-red connectivity to compatible camera phones.
