The URL AssetStore Option provides a central, platform-independent reference point for workgroup and enterprise-wide assets by allowing Cumulus to treat FTP and HTTP sites the same as any file server. Access is absolutely transparent to the end-user. During standard searches through Cumulus catalogs, users who want to access high-resolution versions of files can simply double-click on assets or drag them to desktops. Administrators can set password privileges for secured access or even integrate with e-Commerce applications for immediate, on-line purchases.
"The enhanced URL AssetStore Option fits seamlessly into the unique Cumulus architecture", said Jennifer Neumann, Cantois CEO. "By adding up-load capabilities for ftp, and support for http servers, weire continuing to build proof of concept and real customer value. By now, Cumulus has become a middleware layer on top of standard storage solutions, databases, and operating systems."
The URL AssetStore is available for US$995, while registered users of previous versions may upgrade for US$299. You can can find more information at the Canto Web site.
