CodeWeavers Ships CrossOver Mac

January 8th, 2007 at 2:00 PM - News by Brad Cook

CodeWeavers on Tuesday said that it is now shipping CrossOver Mac, which allows OS X users to install and run Windows software without requiring the Windows operating system. Supported software includes Microsoft Office with native Outlook support for Exchange servers, Microsoft Visio ad Project, Intuit Quicken and QuickBooks, and the games Half Life 2 and Prey. A compatibility database on the CodeWeavers Web site contains nearly 2,600 Windows applications that will run on a Mac through Cross Over.

CrossOver Mac requires an Intel-based Mac and 120MB of free hard drive space. Pricing is US$59.95 as a download or $69.95 on CD. CodeWeavers is demonstrating the software at its Macworld booth this week.
