Leading PC computer maker, Compaq, has reached a deal with video card manufacturer 3dfx to include the Voodoo5 5500 AGP as a build-to-order option for new Compaq computers. Those using the Compaq web site to configure their machines can now add a Voodoo5 card for advanced 3D graphics right out of the box. According to 3dfx:
3dfx Interactive today announced that Compaq Computer Corporation has selected 3dfxis Voodoo5?5500 AGP graphics card as an option on Presario Internet PCs available via the Web through Compaqis "Built for You" program This selection by Compaq validates efforts by 3dfx to broaden its worldwide presence as a leader of 3D graphics acceleration by enabling leading OEMs, such as Compaq to take advantage of the latest innovations in visual effects and 3D acceleration technology.
