DTP Tools Releases Cross-Reference 1.0 for InDesign

· by · News

DTP Tools announced the release of its Cross-Reference 1.0 plug-in for InDesign and InCopy on Wednesday. Cross-Reference is a modular XML-driven referencing system inspired by a similar feature in Adobe FrameMaker, but much improved.

After a period of beta testing, every request received was included in the final release of Cross-Reference. The plug-in adds unrivaled cross-referencing capabilities to InDesign which makes the combination a competitive layout application for technical and scientific documents.

Cross-references can work as hyperlinks for electronic output, and formats can be defined to automatically localize the reference according to the current language. References can point across different documents and are updated live for all open documents.

New features added during testing include:

  • Ability to reference "Footnote number"
  • Scripting support
  • Extensive InCopy workflow support
  • Convenient re-linking of external references
  • Easier creation and customization of formats

Cross-Reference 1.0 for Windows and Mac OS X, CS2 and CS3, is immediately available and priced at US$129.00.
