Daystar announced its 1.92GHz G4 XLR8 PowerBook processor upgrades on Friday. The new XLR8 MAChSpeed PowerBook G4 upgrade is for the older aluminum 15-inch PowerBook G4 with FireWire 800, and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.5 and higher. Daystaris upgrade will boost the older PowerBook beyond the speed of Appleis latest models, which clock in at 1.67GHz. The XLR8 upgrades are installed by Daystaris Apple Certified Technicians, and will be available in December. Pricing information is not yet available.
