Dell Losing PC Marketshare

· by · News

Dell has long been considered the top computer manufacturer in terms of units shipped, but lately has been losing ground to companies like Apple and HP. BusinessWeek reports that for the first time in three years, HP shipped more computers than Dell.

HP managed to outsell Dell enough last quarter to grab 16.3 percent of the personal computer market, beating out Dellis 16.1 percent. Apple showed a 30 percent increase in units shipped, and managed to end the quarter with 6 percent of the U.S. market.

This isnit the first time this year Dellis numbers have dropped below other computer manufacturers. In January, Apple Computeris market cap jumped up over Dellis.
