Digital Foci Inc. on Friday introduced Media Buddy, a portable hard drive that features a variety of flash memory card slots for loading images from a digital camera. It comes with a hard drive ranging between 30GB and 80GB, and it supports Compact Flash I/II, MD, SM, xD-Picture Card, MMC, SD Card, miniSD, and Memory Stick Pro, Duo and Pro Duo.
However, its backlist LCD is text-based, so it doesnit show images on its screen, unlike Digital Fociis Picture Porter, but its onscreen menu does enable browsing and deleting files. Media Buddy also features a USB 2.0 port for connecting to a Mac or Windows PC. In addition, it can be used as an MP3 player.
Media Buddy is 5.8 inches long, 3.4 inches wide and one inch high. It comes in blue, silver or gray as well as four storage capacities: 30GB (US$229.95), 40GB ($249.95), 60GB ($289.95) and 80GB ($349.95). Each unit comes with a USB cable, earphones, an AC adapter, a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, and a carrying case.
