Downpour Greets Germantown Apple Store Opening, Images Available

| News

Apple has opened the 10th and 11th of its first 25 Apple Stores, with the Germantown, TN and Albany, NY stores having opened this past weekend. Observer Kelly Thomas attended this weekendi opening of the Germantown location, and he took some images of the event and posted them at his Web site. From the description at the site:

It was time to do something foolish.
Sometimes foolish can be fun if careful plans are crafted. Leaving small town USA and driving 4 hours to get a free T-shirt from Apple Computer is foolish. Leaving small town USA and driving 4 hours through heavy rain mostly in the dark to get a free T-shirt from Apple Computer is insane.

There are 22 images of the event (23 counting an image of Graceland), along with captions, at Kellyis Web site. Some of them show the downpour and the line of people that lined up anyway. Two of them show the "controversial" signs. Thanks to Kelly Thomas for the note about his images.
