Xeric Design announced on Thursday that it will release EarthDesk 4.0 at Macworld Expo 2007 in January. EarthDesk maps our planet in real time as a Desktop image. Leading up to the version 4 launch, version 3.5.5 was released, on Thursday, too. The update to the current version now properly displays the new start and end times for daylight savings time in the U.S.
EarthDesk is priced at US$19.95, and is available for download at the Xeric Design Web site. The update is free, and EarthDesk purchases made after December 1, 2006, will get a free upgrade to version 4.
