· by · News

EdH software released version 3.1 of its miXscope, digital microscope software on Tuesday. Enhancements include an Onion skin effect for stop motion movies, additional shapes in the live drawing mode, "reflect black" and "reflect white" special effects, and a fix for not properly quitting on Intel Macs connected to certain microscopes.

The miXscope application allows users to take snapshots or create time-lapse or stop motion movies with QX3/QX3+, QX5, MiScope, ProScope, Dino-Lite, and Dino-Eye USB microscopes as well as the Apple iSight camera. The EdH press release stated, "In addition to snapshots and movies, users can add time stamps, text comments, image overlays, make measurements, add special effects, and/or draw on the live view images. Registered users can also write custom special effects plugins."

miXscope is a universal binary, requires Mac OS X 10.3.5 or later, and a single user license is priced at US$14.95. Multi-device licenses are available for schools and businesses.
