Elo TouchSystems has released a new 400MHz iTouch enabled iMac. The iTouch iMac is ideal to use as a kiosk, whether in a public or private forum. The iTouch technology allows for a near maintenance free computer setup. According to Elo:

Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a unit of Tyco Electronics, announces the production of an all-in-one touchcomputer combining Elois iTouch technology and Apple Computer, Inc.is newest iMac Indigo 400 MHz.

The iMac Indigo 400 MHz features Elois unique iTouch "touch-on-tube" surface wave touchscreen technology. "Elois iTouch itouch-on-tubei technology is the only touchscreen solution for Appleis iMac that completely preserves iMac design and image quality because it places the touchscreen directly on the CRT surface," says Scott Smith, kiosk market manager for Elo TouchSystems. "Turning the CRT itself into a touchscreen eliminates the need for intrusive overlays and preserves 100 percent of the brightness, clarity, antireflection and color properties that have made the iMac such an overwhelmingly popular choice." According to Smith, Elo decided to standardize on Appleis iMac Indigo 400 MHz because, in addition to the productis normal array of attractive features, it also offers FireWire connection and is AirPort-ready, all at an affordable price.

Elois iMac Indigo 400 MHz with iTouch is being used successfully in public access applications such as:

  • Retail sales, including auto showrooms, bookstores, specialty shops and more
  • Interactive presentations at museums and exhibitions
