Epson Announces RX620 All-In-One

Epson America, Inc. announced Friday the Stylus Photo RX620, an all-in-one device featuring a six-color, dye-based photo printer.

Imaging Resource: The Stylus Photo RX620 (see photo below), features 5760 x 1440 dpi printing with a 3 picoliter droplet size, and 2400 x 4800 dots per inch scanning with a 35 millimeter film-strip adapter to scan 35mm slide and negatives. Print speed is said to be 78 seconds for an 8x10 inch photo, and the device offers borderless printing at 4x6", 5x7" and 8x10" sizes. Connectivity is via USB 2.0.

The RX620 can copy, print, crop, resize and backup photos without the need of a Macintosh or Windows-based PC. In addition, users can print photos without a PC directly from a CD-ROM or picture CD.

The RX620 will retail for US$299. Availability has not yet been disclosed.
