Epson Announces Stylus Photo R2400 Pro-Quality Printer

Epson America, Inc. announced Tuesday the Stylus Photo R2400 printer with a new ink jet technology that will be available later this month.

The Stylus Photo R2400 comes with UltraChrome K3 inks that ensure both a wider color gamut and superior black and white output, the company said. "With three levels of black and advanced driver controls, the Stylus Photo R2400 enables users to create professional-quality prints on a wide variety of media," a company statement read.

The Stylus Photo R2400 Micro Piezo pigment ink jet technology that delivers droplet sizes as small as 3.5 picoliters and resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 optimized dots per square inch. The new printer prints an 11"x14" photo in as fast as 1 minute, 47 seconds and prints in sizes up to 13" by 19").

The EPSON Stylus Photo R2400 supports Windows 2000 and XP and Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later with both Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire ports.

The new printer replaces the Stylus Photo 2200 and will be available this month for an estimated street price of US$849.
