Excel Software announced on Wednesday that it has released version 2.2 of MacA&D, its software modeling tool. The new version supports PHP design and code generation plus enhanced requirement management, diagram generation and editing.

In addition, the new Global Search dialog scans thousands of text files and folders in seconds for matching text or wildcard patterns, according to the company.

MacA&D

Mac A&D is software modeling software for Mac OS X. It is used for requirements management, software design, code generation and reengineering. In addition to the PHP addition in version 2.2, MacA&D also supports structured analysis, code design and code generation for C, Pascal, Fortran, Basic, C++, Objective-C, Java, Delphi and SQL using the techniques of the Unified Modeling Language (UML).

New customization options give the developer control over content and format of generated code, how code files are named and where they are stored. One click on the Generate Code button creates code from selected objects on a class or structure model.

MacA&D is a Universal Application and requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later. The Standard edition is priced at US$495, the Desktop edition at $1195, and the Developer edition at $1995.
