Fee-Based Web Accelerator Service Comes to Mac

· by Brad Gibson · News

Propel Software announced Wednesday Propel Accelerator for Macintosh, a fee-based service that claims to speed up dial-up Internet connections by up to five times.

The service works with existing Internet Service Provider (ISP) dial-up connections, allowing for faster Web access. The service works seamlessly and requires no additional hardware.

Propel Accelerator for Mac will be distributed by ISPs and other service providers to their subscribers. The service will also be available for purchase by individuals as a subscription service purchased direct from the Propel web site.

The service costs US$7.95 a month, the company said, and will be available in December.
