FileMaker Pro 7 Hits 1 Million Sold

More than one million copies of FileMaker Pro 7 have been shipped worldwide since its release one year ago today, FileMaker Inc. announced Wednesday.

The company confirmed a "record number" of customers with older versions of the database software have upgraded to version 7 in the last year, but did not disclose figures.

In the past year, FileMaker said some 250 developers have been certified and there has been a 15% increase in the number of database developers joining the FileMaker Solutions Alliance. In addition, more than 500 custom third-party solutions hjave been developed that run on FileMaker Pro 7.

The FileMaker 7 product line includes FileMaker Pro 7, FileMaker Server 7, FileMaker Server 7 Advanced, FileMaker Developer 7, FileMaker Mobile 7 for handheld devices, and FileMaker Applications.

Through March 27, FileMaker is offering the product as an upgrade for US$149. For new owners, Filemaker pro 7 retails for $299.
