Firewall Update Released From Glucose

· by Mike Washlesky · News

Glucose has released a maintenance update for Impasse, bringing it to version 1.2.5. Impasse is an OS X firewall utility designed for personal internet security. The update features Jaguar compatability. According to Glucose:

Glucose today introduced Impasse version 1.2.5, which is now fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.

Once OS X 10.2 Jaguar was released, we were concerned that our existing Impasse users would just convert en masse to the built-in Jaguar firewall.

What happened was just the opposite! Our users missed the ability to see packets (in real-time) being denied and accepted by their firewall. They also missed the ability to configure their firewall using the full power and flexibility of the Unix command line. In short, Impasse is the perfect firewall for users who want or need to delve in just a bit deeper than what is offered by the built-in Jaguar firewall.

You can find more information about the Impasse update at the Glucose Web site. Impasse 1.2.5 is available for US$10.00.
