Adobe released Flash Player 9 Update 3 on Tuesday. The new version of the Flash content player added support for H.264 video and High Efficiency AAC (HE-AAC) audio. The update also supports hardware accelerated full screen video playback and multi-core procesors.
The new version of Flash gives content creators and providers new options for streaming Internet-based content with higher resolutions and better audio quality cross platform, and also creates the foundation for Adobe Media Player which is due in early 2008.
Flash Player 9 is free and available for download at the Adobe Web site.
Adobe also introduced Flash Media Server 3. The new product lineup includes H.264 and HE-AAC streaming, supports Flash Player, Flash Lite 3, and Adobe Media Player.
Flash Media Server product family includes Flash Media Streaming Server 3 and Flash Media Interactive Server 3. The new server products will be available in January 2008, and will be priced at $995 and $4,500 respectively.
