Former Apple Exec Richard Kerris Joins Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm announced on Wednesday that former Apple executive Richard Kerris has joined the entertainment and special effects company as Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Kerris will oversee technical operations for Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound, LucasArts, Lucasfilm Animation, Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Lucas Online.

During his tenure at Apple, Mr. Kerris was the senior director of Developer Technologies for Appleis Worldwide Developer Relations group, managed special projects for the applications division, and managed technical marketing strategies for Final Cut Pro, Shake, DVD Studio Pro, Logic, Motion and iLife.

Mr. Kerris has also served as director of Maya Technologies at Alias|Wavefront, and held senior management positions at Silicon Graphics and Electric Image.

Lucasfilm is well know for its high profile projects including the Star Wars series, the Indiana Jones series, and special effects for a long list of movies.
