Free Open Database Connectivity From August Software

August Software has released a free version of Open Database Connectivity SDKs for PowerPC and X86 based Linux systems. The ODBC SDKis are designed to eliminate the need for desktop drivers and control panels on Mac OS, and provide support for cross-platform applications and Web services accessing SQL databases. August Software today announced the delivery of free Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) SDKs for PowerPC and X86 based Linux systems.

Available now at ODBCROUTER.COM, the new standards-based ODBCSDK eliminates the need for per-desktop database drivers and control panels on LINUX, MacOS and Windows platforms. Working in concert with August Softwareis ODBC Router, the new ODBCSDK enables developers to build cross-platform applications and Web services that access virtually any SQL database system including MS-Access, ORACLE, SYBASE, Pick, DB/2, Rdb/VMS and many others.
