Gathering Of Developers Confirms That Shadowbane Has Been Dropped

Shadowbane, the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) which has been one of the most highly anticipated games for the Mac in 2001, has been dropped by Gathering of Developers (GoD), the original Mac publisher. No official word has been posted, but we contacted GoDis PR spokesperson who confirmed that GoD will not be publishing the title. He also told us it was a decision by Take Two Interactive, GoDis parent company, and not GoD itself. Currently there is no word yet on whether or not the game will be picked up by another Mac publisher. Crossroads of Shadowbane posted a comment by Warden, the VP of sales and Marketing at Wolfpack Studios:

"...Weire telling you, flat out, that we arenit in a position to talk right now. I realize that a lot of people have doubts, and thats [sic] unfortunate.. more unfortunate, perhaps, because thereis not really much I can do about it."

"In the meantime, beta continues to move forward, weire hiring new people on a weekly basis, and no one at Wolfpack seems worried. Let me be very clear on this point : Shadowbane WILL be released. We are not concerned for the future of this product."

That clears up the status of the PC version, but leaves us hanging on the Mac version.
