Get A Grip On Fonts With New Version Of FontAgent

Insider Software has updated their font management and repair application, FontAgent, to version 8.5. FontAgent allows users to easy organize and access a large number of installed fonts on a system while also providing the ability to scan and repair any font that has become "damaged." According to Insider Software:

Insider Software today announced the immediate availability of Insider FontAgent 8.5, the industry-leading utility for font repair and management. The release features better handling of fonts with non-standard information, enhanced identification of font foundries, and improved support for Mac OS 9. In addition, the release includes maintenance fixes that result in enhanced font reorganization and greater stability when testing corrupt fonts.

IMPROVED SUPPORT FOR FONT FOUNDRIES
The explosion of downloadable fonts has wreaked havoc on many usersi machines, from novices to experts. "All fonts are not created equal," said Rio Sabadicci, CEO of Insider Software. "Users get fonts from application developers, clip-art vendors, font CDs, and from sources all over the Internet. We now go to extra lengths to identify the foundry that created each font so we can provide better font validation and repair."
