Giants Invade Mandolux

Mandolux has released 35 new desktops for download today. The desktops are images for use as the background on Macs, and represent several different themes including military and abstract imagery. A new addition to the site is the Giant series, designed for users of dual monitors. According to Mandolux:

Mandolux is proud to announce that there are 35 new desktops for the week of May 10. The new desktops: 30 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (aerospace), Mallory (vector-based), Adele (austere), and Twin Peaks (giant and dual monitor).

About the desktops:

The 30 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter collection is a reissue and improved collection of the next generation ‘workhorse’ fighter for the Air Force, Navy, Marines, and the Royal Navy (United Kingdom). It is designed to replace the F-16 Falcon and A-10 Warthog for the Air Force, Navy, and Marines and the RAF Harrier GR7/GR9 and Royal Navy Sea Harrier F/A2s for the UK. The plane is a multi-purpose and multi-design capable of “…a conventional take-off and landing aircraft (CTOL) for the US Air Force; a carrier based variant (CV) for the US Navy; and a short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft for the US Marine Corps and the Royal Navy (Air Force Technology).”

The new vector-based desktop is called Mallory. It is made mostly of dark earth tones and black background

The new collection Austere is a set of pictures of Rose Petals at close view (almost microscopic). The first desktop is called Adele

And lastly, another new collection is Giants – giant size (1920x1200) and dual monitor desktops (1600x1200, 1280x1024, 1152x854, and 1024x768). The images are a picture of a mountain range with a wonderful cloud and sun composition

Giant and dual monitor desktops have been one of the most requested themes at my site. The only reason I didn’t get to do this until now is because I feel so jealous of people who can use these desktops! Having a PowerBook with a 1024x768 display sucks! wink

You can find more information about the new desktops at the Mandolux Web site. The desktops are available as free downloads.
