Google Serves Up Impressions Of Monet, In Honor Of His Birthday

· by · Columns and Opinions

TMO forum mod David Nelson tipped us off to something we thought was definitely Cool, and perhaps not a Waste of Time at all. Internet search engine Google has modified its Web page to include an Impressionistic version of its logo in honor of Claude Monetis birthday. Mr. Monet would be 161 today, but is generally remembered for being the father of the Impressionist movement. From a Claude Monet Web site:

Monet, Claude (1840-1926). French Impressionist painter. He is regarded as the archetypal Impressionist in that his devotion to the ideals of the movement was unwavering throughout his long career, and it is fitting that one of his pictures---Impression: Sunrise (Musée Marmottan, Paris; 1872)---gave the group his name.
