This week at Macworld, Jungle Software released Gorilla 4, the latest edition of its film production software thatis aimed at independent filmmakers. New features in this update include more than a dozen new reports, Element Linking, Element Blackout, Colored Shot Lists, a revamped user interface, and more.

Gorillais modules cover cast, crew, and vendor management, rehearsal schedules, calendaring, shot lists, storyboards, location management, expense tracking, editing notes and even film festival tracking, pre-loaded with over 1,000 film festivals with contact information. The software comes in three editions: Student (US$199), Standard ($299), and Pro ($399). Student is limited to 14 shoot days and a $50,000 budget, while standard is limited to 48 and $625,000, and Pro has unlimited shoot days and budget.

Upgrades from earlier versions of Gorilla are available at a reduced price, as are multiple-user packs, volume purchases, and educational discounts. System requirements call for a G3 or Intel processor, 256MB RAM (512MB recommended), 400MB hard drive space, and Mac OS X v10.2.
