Griffin Ships Long-Awaited radioSHARK

· by Brad Gibson · News

More than a year after it was first announced in July 2003 at Mac Expo in New York, Griffin Technology Inc. said Wednesday its radioSHARK, USB-powered desktop AM/FM radio is ready to ship.

?So it?s a little late,? said Paul Griffin, founder of Griffin Technology. ?When you?re developing new products from scratch, sometimes you run into unexpected speed bumps along the way ? it?s the nature of the business. That said, the radioSHARK is a very cool product that I think people are going to love. It?s the product that ?I? wanted to make and ultimately was worth the wait."

The radioSHARK is named for its destinctive fin shaped design, which acts like an antenna. Compatible with both Mac and PC computers, it allows users to listen to and record their favorite AM or FM radio broadcasts. The radioSHARK can record scheduled radio events or as a way of ?pausing? live radio. Recordings are automatically synchronized to iTunes so you can transfer files to the iPod.

RadioSHARK retails for US$69.99.
