Guest PC Adds New x86 Emulation Option for Mac Users

< A href="http://www.lismoresystems.com/">Lismore Software Systems announced Tuesday the release of a new x86 emulation option for the Mac, Guest PC. Like Microsoftis Virtual PC, Guest PC emulates Intelis x86 processor, and allows you to install operating systems that use that processor, such as Windows or an x86 flavor of Linux.

Guest PC has a built-in Windows Setup Assistant to facilitate Windows installation. The Setup Assistant installs all virtual hardware components needed, and manages things such as your modem, printer, and network connection.

System Requirements:

  • Hardware: Apple Macintosh with PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
  • Operating system: Apple Mac OS X version 10.3 or later
  • Free Hard Disk Space: 2 GB or more
  • RAM: 256 MB or more
  • Display: 1024 x 768 color display
  • Storage: CD or DVD drive
  • Peripherals: Keyboard, Mouse or compatible pointing device

Guest PC is priced at US$69.99, and ships with DOS, Microsoftis command-line operating system that proceeded Windows. Installing Windows requires that you own your own copy of the operating system. Linux for x86 and other x86 operating systems will run on Guest PC, but the Lismore only offers full support for Windows XP.

The company is also offering Guest PC to users of any previous Blue Label PowerEmulator version for $34.99.
