Gefen announced the immediate availability of its Component Video Extender on Thursday. The extender lets DVD players and other video devices with RGB connectors extend their video signal up to 300 feet via a standard CAT-5 ethernet cable. It supports resolutions up to 1080p, and includes a VGA to RGB cable. The Gefen Component Video Extender is available at Gefenis Web site, and is priced at US$299.
