HP Adds iPod mini to US Product Lineup

HP announced Thursday it will begin selling the Apple iPod mini on June 5, along with the standard iPod digital media device, in the U.S. only.

HP will sell the 4 gigabyte (GB) version as well as the 6GB version of the mini. The models will retail for US$199 and $249, respectively, The Mac Observer has learned. An HP spokesperson was not immediately available for comment, but appears the HP-branded iPod mini will be available in a silver color only.

HP also unveiled new HP Printable Tattoos for the iPod mini.

The Apple iPod mini from HP as well as HP Printable Tattoos and accessories will be available to consumers in the U.S. and Canada online at hpshopping.com starting June 5, and shortly thereafter at major retailers, including Radio Shack, Sears and Wal-Mart.

There has been major speculation for the last few months that HP would begin selling the iPod mini. HP is the only OEM partner with Apple that is allowed to sell the iPod product line and is only allowed to sell it in the U.S.
