HP Introduces Consumer Photo Printer For US$149

HP has introduced the Deskjet 940, a consumer-level photo-quality printer. The new printer will output 2400 x 1200 dpi prints, and will print up to 12 ppm in black, or 10 ppm with color. From HP:

Hewlett-Packard Company today introduced the HP Deskjet 940 color inkjet printer, an ideal solution for consumers just getting started with digital imaging. The HP Deskjet 940 printer delivers remarkable photo-quality output and sharp black text, making it the essential versatile printer for any home or small office.

From photo reprints that look virtually identical to the original, to personalized greeting cards that rival store-bought cards in quality, the HP Deskjet 940 printer produces 2400 x 1200-dpi color images on photo paper. It also prints up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 10 ppm in color.

For added convenience, the HP Deskjet 940 printer offers a high-capacity, 150-sheet paper tray to save time, a print-cancel button to instantly halt unwanted print jobs, and an optional automatic two-sided printing accessory that automatically prints on both sides of the page to save time and money.

Additionally, the HP Deskjet 940 printer ships with HP photo imaging software, which introduces users to digital imaging by providing an intuitive step-by-step process on how to capture, share and store digital images.
