Having Trouble Getting The OmniWeb Update? Use Your iDisk

· by · News

The good people at The Omni Group released an update to OmniWeb last night, and the demand has brought their servers to a screeching halt. Many who have tried to download the update from the X developeris site have gotten the following message after the download attempt timed out:

Please download OmniWeb from your iDisk

We apologize for the inconvenience, but weire currently experiencing an overwhelming demand for OmniWeb 4.0.3 and our web server is unable to fulfill your request. To download OmniWeb from your iDisk instead:

1. Select "iDisk" from Finderis "Go" menu (Option-Command-I)
2. On your iDisk, navigate to Software : Mac OS X Software : Applications
3. Double-click on OmniWeb-4.0.3.dmg

If iDisk is not an option for you, you may also download OmniWeb from our FTP site at ftp://ftp.omnigroup.com/pub/software/MacOSX/10.0/OmniWeb-4.0.3.dmg.gz, but keep in mind that our FTP server is limited to 50 simultaneous downloads.

Thank you!

The Omni Group

We were able to quickly download the update from one of our iDisks (less than a minute on a cable modem for our test download), and we recommend this option over using The Omni Groupis FTP server. While you are digging around in your iDisk, check out the other great Mac OS X software that Apple makes available through your iDisk.
