High Speed Storage Just Got Cheaper

FirewireDirect has announced a new line of FireWire drives, and price reductions across their existing lines. The new SlimLine DX series offers style and speed, and includes a 20GB model for under US$270. According to FirewireDirect:

The announcement was accompanied by a statement that the company is presenting a new series of prices on their entire line of FireWire storage solutions, including the new SlimLine DX in a 20GB configuration for under $270. The company also intends to offer a handful of bundling deals that offer substantial discounts for those buying FireWire upgrade cards along with FireWire storage devices.

The SlimLine DX HDD Series is visible on the company?s web site and begins shipping today. New combinations of product bundles combining FireWire storage devices with FirewireDirect?s award winning upgrade products are being added daily.

The SlimLine DX HDD is a FireWire ready hard drive available in 20, 30, 60 and 80 GB configurations for all 1394 enabled computers and targeted toward every user desiring robust, high capacity, easy to use FireWire storage. Like all the FirewireDirect storage products the drive is hot-swappable, externally powered, and uses the highest quality hard drive mechanism with a FireWire interface that includes a pair of ports for chaining additional devices on the same bus.
