Tiger Technologies has updated their Finder window customization tool, Window Monkey, to version 1.3.1. Window Monkey allows OS 8/9 users to add specific backgrounds to individual Finder windows, much like the feature available in OS X. According to Tiger Technologies:

Window Monkey is a Macintosh shareware program that adds customizable background patterns to Finder windows and gives users a handy window navigation menu. It has won many awards, including being rated number 20 on MacAddict magazineis list of all-time greatest Mac shareware and freeware programs.
The updated version includes these changes:
- works around a problem in Mac OS 9.1 that caused a conflict with PopChar
- fixes a conflict with recent versions of GraphicConverter
- the "background Finder window click" feature can now be turned off or assigned a key combination
- more than a dozen new patterns are included
