HumanSoftware is now shipping a new app for Mac users, SpiroMaker. SpiroMaker is a plug-in designed for creating trochoids directly in Photoshop or Elements. The app creates the spirographs as layers or paths for simplified image creation. According to HumanSoftware:

Elements 1 and up...SpiroMaker offers the unique ability to create spirographs (mathematical name trochoids) right inside Photoshop.
Users simply adjust the base circle and turn circle radius, the number of iterations with instant preview. They collect inside Photoshop a layer, a selection or a path. Styles may be applied on the resulting layers and Paths may be stroked for beautiful end results.
