IBM Says Better Mac Notes Support on the Way

· by · News

IBM is working on improving its Notes client software for the Mac, and plans to offer "Mac fidelity" for its group collaboration software. CRN reports that IBM is beta testing a new version of its Notes Client for the Mac, and that it offers feature parity with its Windows compatible counterpart.

Mike Rhodin, IBMis Workplace, Portal and Collaboration group general manager, commented "We have millions of Notes seats on the Mac now, and some very large customers are active in the beta and are very vocal about that. The Mac is a resurgent platform."

He said that the new Mac Notes client will actually look like a Mac application, and that the 7.02 maintenance release will add iNotes Web client support.

Earlier this year, IBM pledged to support the Mac platform.
