ID3X Updated To 2.5

Three-2-One has released an update for ID3X, bringing it to version 2.5. ID3X is a MP3 file editor designed for renaming music files for iPod and iTunes. The update features performance enhancements and bug fixes. According to Three-2-One:

We are proud to announce an important update of our shareware ID3 editor "ID3X" for the Apple Macintosh.

The version published today includes the possibility to download lyrics directly from the internet and offers more functions in renaming MP3 files automatically (with full long file name support). In addition registered users are able to write custom batch functions in Basic syntax and use the new flexible "sort to folder structure" batch function.

Changes in this version:

  • Added batch "Sort to folder structure"
  • Added batch "Script" - lets you program tag changes
  • Automatically lookup lyrics from the internet
  • File renaming scheme may now include year and comment
  • File renaming "convert spaces to underscores" added
  • File renaming now prevents unwanted results like ".mp3" and strips forward slashes "\\"
  • "Batch add and remove images" with new features for affecting file and folder icons
  • Reading of tag images is way faster
  • Sometimes not all information in an ID3V2.2 tag was shown (e.g. title was missing)
  • Navigational popup menu now always displays folder names correctly
  • Parsing track numbers from file names now works with numbers larger than 99

You can find more information about the ID3X update at the Three-2-One Web site. ID3X 2.5 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$15.00.
