IOGEAR Announces Bluetooth, Laser, Antimicrobial Mouse

· by · News

IOGEAR has announced the immediate availability of its Bluetooth Laser Mouse with a protective antimicrobial coating.

IOGEAR Model GME228BW6

The new mouse is described as perfect for medical offices, libraries, and schools as well as mobile desktop users.

"The Bluetooth Laser Mouse is coated with a Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Silver (Ag) nano-particle compound. These two mechanisms deactivate enzymes and proteins of bacteria from surviving on the surface of the product. Nano Coating has been tested and proven effective against the settlement of harmful microbes on the insulated surface," according to IOGEAR.

The new mouse also uses a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser which has 30x more tracking power than mice using an optical sensor. The result is that the mouse can be used on a wider range of surfaces, even glass. The resolution is 1600 dpi.

The IOGEAR Laser Mouse is immediately available and requires Mac OS X 10.3.5 or later. It is also compatible with Windows including Vista. It is priced at US$79.95.
