Impression 1.11 Update Features Speed Boost

The Babel Company has released an update for Impression, bringing it to version 1.11. Impression is a utility designed for the secure backup of optical disc directories. The update features backup engine speed enhancements and UI mods. According to The Babel Company:

The Babel Company Iim pleased to announce the 1.11 release of Impression, a backup utility for Mac OS X.

Impression is a low cost backup utility used to back up directories to (and restore them from) multiple optical discs (CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD-R are supported). It includes a utility for erasing rewritable discs.

This version supports considerable performance/speed increases for the backup engine, most notably when a backup session is run with irooti user authority.

  • 5-15x speed improvements for sessions run with irooti user authority
  • 15% speed increase in the backup engine in general
