Intel And Media 100 Ink Deal Over Streaming

Media 100 Inc. has announced that it is working with Intel Internet Media Services to provide high-bandwidth, highly-reliable hosting services for Internet broadcasters. Intel Internet Media Services will work with Media 100is streaming media services division to provide scalable streaming media hosting infrastructure from Media 100is encoding and hosting service centers. According to Media 100:

This will enable Media 100 to offer its roster of Internet broadcast clients worldwide - including Warner Brothers Online, MTVi, HBO and VH1 - with a global network of highly-reliable, high-performance streaming media hosting capabilities to facilitate the growing volume of streaming media content broadcast over the Internet 24 hours a day.

"In order to deliver industry-defining streaming media services, you need to build an infrastructure that will exceed the expectations, anxieties and stringent demands of your most valuable clients - and to build such an infrastructure, you work with the best," said John Molinari, chief executive officer of Media 100.

Additionally, the two companies have entered into a marketing agreement in which Intel and Media 100 will work together to market streaming media services jointly provided by Streamriver Networks and Intel Internet Media Services. Intel Internet Media Services is also sponsoring a Media 100-hosted Ustream Seminar series - a multi-city series developed to teach, inspire and empower individuals to become Internet broadcasters.
