Among the many announcements made by Apple yesterday at the WWDC keynote, one question seemed to pass under the radar of most people: What happened to the G4 towers? Even though Appleis starting pricing for the new Power Mac G5 is higher than we have seen from the companyis tower line in years, one would still have expected the company to allow the G4 to quietly use the back exit.
Well, this isnit the case. Scroll by the shiny new Power Mac G5 towers at the online Apple Store, and youill eventually encounter a familiar face. Itis a face that was introduced to the world in 1999 as the Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White). It has changed quite a lot since then, but itis still the same general design.
