It Is That Time Again...Pixelpalooza Time!

Our friends at Iconfactory have announced that they are gearing up for the next Pixelpalooza context. Attracting the best in amature icon artists, Pixelpalooza offes prizes for in a number of icon categories, and this year have added an OS X category. As always, Iconfactory is offering great prizes, including a Tangerine iBook. According to Iconfactory:

The webis premiere source for freeware Mac icons, The Iconfactory is proud to announce that its 5th annual icon design contest, Pixelpalooza is poised to begin Friday, December 1st, 2000.

Pixelpalooza offers aspiring icon artists an opportunity to strut their stuff both for the Macintosh platform and for the icon community at large. Last yearis contest garnered over 126 entries from around the world and awarded prizes in three categories - 2D, 3D and System Replacement. This year, weive added a new, fourth category - OSX. Now icon designers will have a chance to push the envelope of icon creation for Mac OS X and show the world just what is possible in a 128x128 pixel grid.

The contest runs from December 1st, 2000 until February 1st. with winners announced on Valentineis Day. Some of the many prizes for this yearis contest include copies of Microsoft Office 2001, Stuffit Deluxe 6.0 and even a Tangerine iBook loaded with every icon that The Iconfactory has ever produced. Watch for official contest rules and submission guidelines to be posted at the IF this week, and in the meantime, start pushing pixels people!
