SofCare GmbH has released an update for K4, bringing it to version 4.1. K4 is an editorial publishing system designed for use with Adobe InDesign and InCopy. The latest version features an edit alert function that notifies users when layouts and content has been modified. According to SoftCare GmbH:
SoftCare GmbH, a Germany-based software company, today released version 4.1 of the K4 Publishing System.
K4 is a collaborative workflow system for publishers that integrates Adobe® InDesign® 2.0 and the award-winning editorial tool Adobe InCopy® 2.0 with a powerful SQL database. Some of K4is new features broaden the functionality for editors, offering capabilities that are unique and new to the world of editorial systems.
In the new version, editors are not only automatically alerted when the layout for their article has changed, but also when the content of another article on the page has been modified by other editors.
Text changes can be loaded to assure that editors have the latest page content at their disposal for fine-tuning their own article text. Furthermore, all articles belonging to the same layout can be checked out for editing in the same document with a single mouse-click, saving time when doing final corrections or closing out pages.
You can find more information about the K4 update at the SoftCare GmbH Web site. K4 4.1 pricing is available from the SofCare sales department.
