Keyspan Announces 4-Port Serial Adapter

Keyspan, the company largely responsible for keeping serial connectivity alive on the Mac, has announced a new 4-port serial adapter. The new device, which will be officially released at next weekis MACWORLD Expo, will allow users to hook up to 4 serial devices to share one USB port. According to Keyspan:

Keyspan (Booth #3535 North Hall) will be at MacWorld Expo showing itsline of USB, FireWire and Serial Adapter products including a new--- youheard it here first--- four-port adapter to ship later this month.

The "Keyspan USB 4-Port Serial Adapter" allows 4 serial devices to beconnected to a single USB port with each port supporting data rates upto 960 Kbps.

In addition to supporting MacOS 8.6 or later, this adapter may be usedwith Windows 98 and Windows ME, as well as with Linux 2.4; support for

Mac OS X and Windows 2000 will be available later this quarter. The Keyspan USB 4-Port Serial Adapter is ideal for point of sale,medical, lab, manufacturing and scientific applications where multipleserial instruments must be connected to a Mac USB port.
