Kurzweil 3000 for Mac Version 3 Helps Struggling Students

Kurzweil Educational Systems Inc. announced Wednesday Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3, a new version of their reading, writing and learning software.

Version 3is release Kurzweil has implemented a new network edition that lets students access the content across a local area network (LAN). In addition, new writing, vocabulary-building and document preparation features have been added in Version 3 to both the network and standalone editions.

Also new in the release is a Word Prediction feature that helps students with spelling problems choose the right word, a Vocabulary List feature which help teach new words, a Zone Editing feature allows students or teachers to specify how Kurzweil 3000 for Mac handles blocks of text (or zones) in an image document, and a Zone Editing feature that allows students or teachers to specify how the product handles blocks of text (or zones) in an image document.

Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3 will ship in November, the company said. The Learning Lab Pack (1 Professional and 4 "LearnStation" licenses) is available for US$539 per standalone seat.
