LaCie announced the immediate availability of an updated version of the d2 Blu-ray disc burner on Wednesday. The new version increased Blu-ray burn speeds from 2X up to 4X.

The d2 can store up to 50GB of data on double-layer Blu-ray discs; supports DVD+R and DVD-R dual-layer, CD+R and CD-R; and includes dual FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces along with Roxio Toast Titanium disc burning software.
The updated d2 is priced at US$649.99.
