LaCie Launches 2big "Triple" and "Network" RAID Drives

LaCie has launched a pair of new RAID storage devices, the four mode 2big Triple for local storage and the two mode 2big Network for LAN storage.

The 2big Triple, available in 1, 1.5 and 2 TB models, features four configurations: Concatenation (BIG) for maximum capacity, JBOD, RAID 0 and RAID 1. Interfaces include FireWire 400, 800, and USB 2.

The 2big Network, also available in 1, 1.5 and 2 TB sizes features two configurations: BIG mode and RAID 1. The network access supports 10/100/1000 Mbps. The drive features an easy setup and access agent and supports Macs, Linux and Windows on the network.

In addition, the 2big Dual, similar to the Triple, features an eSATA interface combined with USB 2.

The 1 TB version is priced at US$409.99 and the 2 TB at $939.99. LaCie is taking pre-orders for both the Triple and Network, and they will ship in late October, according to the company.
